YOUR PERSONAL DATA:

What we need:

Shrewsbury Light Orchestra (SLO) needs to collect basic personal data about you, which may include name, address, email, phone number, your instrument and any supporting information relating to instrumental playing.

Why we need it:

We need to know your basic personal data in order to provide you with services relating to you as a member of the Orchestra. This may be as a playing member, a Friend/Subscriber or as an attendee of our concerts and other events we may run. For example we may use your data to administer:
Concert/rehearsal attendance,
Concert and Event marketing,
Membership records,
Gift aid.
We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide services related to your membership of the Orchestra.

The Lawful basis under which we process the Data:

From May 2018 (with explicit permission from each individual) data will be collected by the Secretary using the standard form appended to this document. Appendix A.

What we do with it:

All the personal data we hold is used only by volunteer committee members in the UK. No third parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. We do not share or sell your data. We have this Data Protection policy to ensure the effective and secure use of your personal data.

How long we keep it:

According to UK law we may keep your personal data (name, address, contact details) for the period in which it is used for the stated purposes. These include marketing (for concerts and other events) so we will retain your information for this purpose unless you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information. Your information is not shared with third parties and you can unsubscribe at any time via letter to the secretary or email to: secretary@shrewsburylight-orch.org.uk

What are your rights?:

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you may request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Chairman or Secretary who will investigate the matter. If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data otherwise than in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
